New Websites in Mason Google Analytics Roll-Up
Below are the new websites (hostnames) showing-up the in Mason Google Analytics Roll-Up since our last meeting:

- 2 of 3 HR websites added to the roll-up: hr.gmu.edu and myMasonHR.gmu.edu and indexed to the ‘HR’ busness unit.
- These sites are using the standard Mason GTM container, so they are now tracking user events (outbound link clicks, email link clicks, file download link clicks) as well.
- Hopefully we will be able to get jobs.gmu.edu added to the roll-up, but that site runs on a third-party platform. We are examining GA integration options. It would be great to that website added to the university roll-up since job applications are a KPI for the university.

- Library websites indexed to ‘Library’ business unit.
- What is the relationship between gml-primo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com and other *.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com domain names?
- What is libnew.gmu.edu?

I have been working with Volgenau and Mason Athletics to bring them into the university roll-up.
Mason Athletics (gomason.com) is on a third-party platform, so we’re attempting to work with the vendor.
ITS is working on improving their GA implementation.
New Custom Segment: Loudoun County
A new custom segment was created to select just Loudoun County traffic. You can find a link to this custom segment in the Mason-Related Custom Google Analytics Segments post
Changes to Google Analytics Interface
There have been some recent changes to the Google Analytics reporting interface:
- The data sampling notification is now shown in the report header.
- “Report Shortcuts” are now called “Saved Reports”. As a result, a “Saved Reports” link has replaced the “Shortcuts” link in the Customization section of the left-navigation and a “Save” button has been added in the report header section (replacing the “Create Shortcut” link) to create saved reports.
Assessing Click-Tracking “Heatmap” Software
We are looking at implementing a click-tracking “Heatmap” software.

Embedded YouTube Video Analytics
We are developing recommendations on how to implement the tracking of user interaction with embedded videos in Google Analytics. Most likely, such functionality will be built-in to the Mason GTM Template Container.
Updates to Campaign Tagging Page
The campaign tagging page has been updated and now includes a link to recommendations for campaign tagging printed materials.
