3. Enter the domain name of the website as the “Property name”
4. Change the “Reporting time zone” to “New York Time”
5. Click on “Show advanced options”
6. Click on “Create a Universal Analytics property”
7. Enter the domain name of the website
8. Click Next
9. In the “Industry category” drop-down, select “Jobs & Education”
10. In the “Business size” drop-down, select “Very Large”
11. In the “How do you intend to use Google Analytics with your business?”, select “Measure customer engagement with my site or app”
12. Click Create
13. On the resulting screen (“Web Stream Details”), make note of the “Measurement ID”
14. Close the “Web Stream Details” box
15. To change to the universal analytics property, click the property selector
16. Select the Universal analytics property. It’s the one for which the ID number starts with “UA-” and for which the name does not have the ” – GA4″ suffix
17. Click on “View Settings”
18. Update the “View name” as shown – to start with “[PROD]”, followed by the domain name, followed by the current date in parenthesis in YYYY-MM-DD format
19. Click Save
20. Click the back arrow to get out of the view settings screen
21. Click on Tracking Info
22. Click on Referral Exclusion List
23. Click on gmu.edu
24. Instead of just “gmu.edu”, enter the full domain name for the site
25. Click Save
26. At the top of the Property Settings screen, make note of the property “Tracking ID”
