I met with Lindsey Olson of the Mason Staff Senate.
They tried unsuccessfully to implement campaign-tagging in their recent (Feb. 9th) Staff Senate Newsletter email. Upon researching the problem, we determined that they had inadvertently modified the campaign-tagged URLs (after they were generated (correctly) by the Mason Campaign URL Builder) in such a way that the campaign-tagging did not work.
We also discussed campaign-tagging strategy to make sure that they are using the campaign data fields optimally for what they would like to be able to track.
We also reviewed the past 3 months of analytics data for their website and identified many interesting patterns. We then reviewed the custom data that is available to them in Google Analytics (outbound links clicks, file downloads, expandable content areas clicks, etc.).
